Subwoofer Test Suite

Got a subwoofer and a good set of speakers and want to see how good it is? Run some of the test signal mp3s at Genelec: Test Signals. I’m going to find a longer version of the sweep tone because the way it rattles the walls and various items in the room is nuts. If you’ve got any links to interest speaker test tones, please post a comment below!

Optical Illusions

Found these Optical Illusions and I still can’t get my head around them! For example, in the picture below squares A & B are the exact same colour.

Optical Illusion

Make sure you try out the masks and swatches on the site if you don’t believe it!

The Matrix in Ascii

The Matrix in Ascii - One scene from the original Matrix as an ascii art movie!

Google Earth

Google Earth - This blows Google Maps right out of the water! Download the free application and you can do all sorts of crazy tilts & pans. Will write a complete post when I get the chance!

World’s Tallest Virtual Building

World’s Tallest Virtual Building - No longer an active project, but from a pixel art point of view, it’s very neat.

Asides in Wordpress

Inspired by the link boxes on Brad Sucks, I’ve gone ahead and looked into creating my own link box posts. You’ll notice the occassional post is only a single dot point in a grey box, I’ll be using this sort of thing when I’m not up to writing a full post on something I find, but feel it’s worth posting.

My implementation is based on the post Photo Matt » On Asides and whilst the implementation is a little loose in a few areas, including magic numbers and a dodgy output buffering hack, it took me no time at all to hack together and looks pretty nice!
